FS2S September Challenge

Studio Rosey Posey: Summer Memories
Studio Tangie: Steampunk-Maritime Kit,
Chromicles of Imagination
From Screen to Scrap September Challenge is based on the movie poster "The Last House on the Left".  The challenge criteria calls for a black base, a house somewhere on the page and one word in your title needs to be red.

Being a scary movie I contemplated doing a Halloween LO, but I'm in the groove working on my vacation photos and don't want to interrupt the flow.

The LO was inspired from a sketch that I saw at Get It Scrapped.  I love the layered look, but have a hard time figuring out how to do it sometimes so a sketch is a great way to get me started.

This challenge runs until the end of the month so why not give it a go.

Happy Craftin'!

Love is in the Air

At least it is over at From Screen 2 Scrap http://screen2scrap.blogspot.com/.  Their movie poster inspiration challenge is up for April.  This month it's the romance "Ever After" with Drew Barrymore.  The challenge is to journal your love story, or if you haven't met your love, journal about your dream love. Use a Fairytale Theme for your title and add a little bling.  My title is actually from the theme song of our favorite romantic movie "The Princess Bride". Why not join the challenge and tell us about your love story?

From Screen 2 Scrap March Inspiration

Stampin Up! Vintage Overlays
Viva Artistry Silver Bells;
Anna Aspnes White Paint 1
12x12 Clipping Masks
This month over at  http://screen2scrap.blogspot.com/ the Movie Poster inspiration is "The Day After Tomorrow".  The bonus criteria is a white title, one photo only, white monochromatic LO with a touch of blue.  The Statue of Liberty's arm reminded me of the photo I took at Christmas of my sister holding the phone up for everyone to yell "Merry Christmas" when my nephew from overseas called.   If you've never tried FS2S Movie Poster Challenge, give this month a try.  I know you'll have fun!

It's a White Christmas over at FS2S

Digi elements are from Anna Aspnes,
Jessica Sprague, Mye De Leon
and Forever Joy.
This month's film inspiration over at From Screen to Scrap is "White Christmas". We had to use white cardstock, 2 color title and Santa hats. I used white cardstock as my base and then made sure to add white cardstock in between paper layers and even matted my two different color letters on white. Of course the picture itself took care of the Santa hat requirement.

I did some blending on the papers and varied opacity levels. I also tried my hand at adding different level of shadows. It's amazing what different shadow angles and depths do to the look of a LO.  To shadow or not to shadow?  That is the question we digi scrappers deal with onn every LO.  I always try to imagine if it would have a shadow on a paper LO and go from there.  IF you do digi LOs how do you handle shadowing?

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to head over the http://screen2scrap.blogspot.com/ and check out this month's challenge.

Home for the Holidays Film Inspiration

From Screen 2 Scrap has monthly challenges inspired by movie posters. This month was "Home for the Holidays". We had to use "Home" in the title, journal in white and use photos from a family gathering. Heather T over at MScraps has an alpha called Alpha Giants, which uses the large half letters. Once I saw them I knew I had to use them. The rest of the digi elements are from an Mscraps blogtrain called Autumn Potpourri.
If you want to try a different kind of challenge you should head over to http://screen2scrap.blogspot.com/ and have some fun!
